Insurance

I am considered an out-of-network provider, and my services are covered by most insurance companies as such. I will provide you with the required paperwork needed for insurance reimbursement. Some helpful questions for your  insurance company are provided below:

  • Does my plan cover mental health services (e.g., individual psychotherapy, CPT code 90834; couples/family therapy CPT code 90847)?

  • If so, what percentage of the cost is covered for out-of-network providers?

  • Is there a session limit? How many sessions are covered per calendar year?

  • Is precertification required?

  • Do I have a deductible? How much is it? Has it been met?

Cancellation Policy

Appointments must be cancelled a full 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice and no-shows will be billed the full rate.

Cancellations and rescheduling can be done by sending a secure message through the client portal.

Emergency

If you experience an emergency and cannot reach me, please call 911 or go the nearest emergency room.

Good Faith Estimate

Prior to scheduling our appointment, I will provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for psychotherapy services as required by the No Surprises Act of 2021. The document will be written for the entire year and sent to you via the portal.

You have the right to receive a GFE document explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a GFE for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a GFE before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your GFE document.

For questions or more information about your right to a GFE, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Telehealth

Currently, I am only providing services via telehealth. I use a HIPAA compliant platform.
